1981
Molding of business discipline and character
In the early 1980s, a bright and determined young man set out to make a difference on our small island. Amid an uncertain market and shifting policies, Mr. Toh chose to pursue entrepreneurship after completing his national service, founding Eng Leng Sub-Contractors with resilience and vision.
2001
Strong business vision and acumen
Despite pivoting from providing sand hauling services to delivering cleaning services for 80% of the current town councils, our founder, Mr. Toh, recognized the importance of staying relevant in a every changing economy. With a clear vision for growth, he partnered with the like-minded Mr. Peh to build Eng Leng Contractors into what it is today.
2001 - 2006
Maket grabbing and transformation
The company began reaping the rewards of strong business partnerships, making a meaningful impact in Singapore’s environmental services landscape. By delivering consistent quality, Eng Leng Contractors retained clients from 2001 through to today, providing retail and office cleaning services along the bustling Orchard shopping belt. Despite securing multiple contracts, the leadership’s drive and ambition extended beyond local success. Their hunger for growth and talent development pushed them to look beyond the domestic market. They know that to stay competitive they need to scale and grow faster than ever before.
2006
First Acquisition
In 2006, the company marked a major milestone with its first acquisition, Titan Facilities Management Pte Ltd. The intention to strengthen its capabilities and expanding its service portfolio. While scaling the business, the founders remained grounded in their roots by bringing family members into the organization, reinforcing trust and shared values. At the same time, Eng Leng secured high-visibility projects including Mei Ling Food Centre, the Health Promotion Board, and township cleaning contracts, further solidifying its presence in Singapore’s environmental services sector.
2016
Oversea Expansion, Eng Leng (Thailand): ELT
Overseas expansion has been a challenge for many companies, and the need to localise operations quickly became a top priority for the partnership. With this in mind, they onboarded key talent such as Mr. Palawut to strengthen local expertise and drive regional growth.By securing global brands like Watsons and Foamtech International as part of their client portfolio, the group elevated its market position. This strategic expansion marked a significant step forward, bringing the organisation to a new level of capability and recognition.
2019
HK Exchange - Hygieia Group Limited
The Group reached a significant milestone with its successful listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under Hygieia Group Limited.With a clear ambition to become a leading environmental services provider, the Group positions itself as a trusted, outcome based partner of choice. Expanding beyond core cleaning services, it has broadened its capabilities to include pest control, waste management, and façade cleaning which further strengthen its integrated service offerings and market leadership.
